A traveler using miles arrived at the Rome Airport for her flight returning back to the U.S. Her online ticket information was in-hand as she arrived two hours early for the flight but she missed her flight. The airline changed the ticket without her knowing. They didn't accept responsibility for the error and said they'd put her on a waitlist daily until she a flight became available which would probably be in about 5 days. In this case a travel agent saved the day with creative routing and an overnight stay in a connection city.
